CARROLL NERVOUS ON NEWCASTLE RETURN

Liverpool striker Andy Carroll has said that he is extremely nervous about the prospect of playing at the Sports Direct Arena for the first time since his £ 35 million move to Anfield more than a year ago. Carroll also said that he is not sure about the reception he will get when he steps out onto the pitch.

“I don’t usually get nervous but this might be a bit different. All of my family and friends will be there but they’re so big on football that I’m not sure who they’ll be supporting. It’s great to see Newcastle doing so well. Obviously I support them, was brought up there and was lucky enough to play for them. They will always mean something,” Carroll told The Telegraph just ahead of the match. Andy Carroll has already lifted the Carling cup with Liverpool and is hoping for more trophies in his time at Anfield.
