CARROLL CLOSE TO HIS BEST
Liverpool striker Andy Carroll has said that he is now getting close to the best form of his career. Andy Carroll has struggled at Anfield ever since his move from Newcastle United for the transfer fee of £ 35 million, which is the record for a British player. To be fair to Andy Carroll, he has been suffering a number of injury problems during his initial part of the settling in process. Further, the presence of Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez certainly did not help matters either, as Andy Carroll often found himself playing second fiddle to Luis Suarez.
The striker scored his eighth goal of his Liverpool career during the 6-1 rout against Brighton. Many believed that, this game brought the best out of him. Interestingly, this was the first time Andy Carroll also played alongside both Luis Suarez and Steven Gerrard. It also seemed to suggest that Andy Carroll could be set for a run in the first team. Liverpool will be facing Cardiff city in the Carling cup final during the weekend. It is expected that Andy Carroll will be part of the starting line-up, as he was voted as the best player in the match against Liverpool by captain Steven Gerrard.
“I feel like I am doing well. I have just started scoring goals and I am doing well in games. I think it has all come together. (I’m) getting around the pitch a bit more, getting involved. I am happy, more confident and things are going all right. The whole team played well (against Brighton) and I was delighted to get a goal,” said the England international. Liverpool will be facing Arsenal in the Premier league following the Cardiff city match. Hence, Kenny Dalglish will want Andy Carroll to be in the best form possible.
